How to share files between home pc's?















Sharing between windows 7 pc’s 

Windows 7 Home groups , allows you to share file between two home computers.

1. First on the system you want to share the file , open Home Group control panel
2. By default window should created one for you, if not click on create a Home Group .

3. Choose the file type you’d like to share and click next

4. Wait for few minutes for the windows to update, now on the other pc, open the Home Group control panel, and you should see the home group you just created.

5. Click on Join now and follow the rest to finish the step in the wizard

Accessing files on a Mac from a windows 7 pc.

1. On the Mac , Go to system preference and open the Network application.

2. Click the WINS tab

3. Change the workgroup setting to the workgroup of windows7 pc(it’ll be listed) and click OK.

4. Again on system preference, open the Mac’s sharing application, tick the file sharing button.

5. Now go to shared folders panel, select the folders you wish to share.

6. In the user panel, give read only or read & write to the everyone group

7. Click Options and then put a check in the box for share files and folders using SMB. Click done.

8. Lastly , open the accounts application , unlock your system , and click guest account in the left panel. Check the box and allow guests to connect to the shared folders.
